How to Fax From Your Phone

You do not need to download an app. You do not need to sign up for anything. Your phone already has everything required: a camera and a browser.

No App Required

Just The Fax works entirely in your mobile browser -- Safari, Chrome, Firefox, whatever you already use. Go to justthefax.io/send and you are ready. No App Store download, no permissions, no storage space wasted on yet another app you will use once.

Capturing Your Document

You have two options: take a photo right now, or upload something already on your phone.

The guided camera frame shows you exactly where to position the page. Our processing straightens, crops, and cleans the image so it comes out sharp on the other end. If you have multiple pages, add them one at a time -- the send flow handles multi-page batches.

Already have a PDF or photo in your camera roll? Tap upload and pick it from Files or Photos. HEIC (iPhone default photo format) works fine -- we handle the conversion.

Tips for Good Photo Quality

  • Flat surface. Lay the document flat on a table or desk. Wrinkles and curves make text blurry.
  • Good lighting. Overhead light is best. Avoid angled desk lamps that cast shadows across the page.
  • No shadows. Watch for your own hand or phone shadow falling on the document. Hold your phone directly above.
  • Fill the frame. Get the whole page in the camera view. Our cropping handles minor angles, but it works best when the page fills most of the frame.
  • Hold steady. If the photo is blurry, the fax will be blurry. Take a second to let your phone focus before tapping the shutter.

After Capture

Once your pages are uploaded, the rest is the same as desktop: enter the fax number, pick a free cover sheet if you want one, pay, and send. Pricing is $1.99 for 1-15 pages, $2.99 for 16-50, $4.99 for 51-100. You only get charged if the fax actually delivers.
